About the Artist

My name is Janet Meinke-Lau. I am a watercolor artist and my paintings are inspired by life in Hawaii. From surfing at dawn to seeing plumeria blossoms at dusk, the ocean and the natural world bring me a sense of connection and wonder for life and all the beauty it holds. In my paintings, I seek to capture the emotions of being in the ocean – the crash of waves, the calm of sea meeting sky. From the moment when paint first touches paper, I am focused, inspired, and invigorated to create. I am in flow. I hope that my art brings you calm, wonder, and joy, and reminds you that we are all connected. I also hope that my art encourages you to create and express your true self.
