About the Piece

The Lincoln school has a long history tracing back to the 1831 Oahu Charity school, teaching the English language. In the mid 1850’s it was named the Town Free School. In 1908 it served as a much needed high school, McKinley High School until 1923. The building was renamed Lincoln School until 1957 when it was called Linekona. Today it is officially know as The Honolulu Museum of Art School, serving as a center for arts education Honolulu Museum of Art, but still referred to as Linekona by many people.

About the Artist

I have been making art for as long as can remember and watercolor has always been my favorite media. I love the way it flows on the paper and if you let it go….it shares in the creative process of your painting. Through the years I have learned from many of the best watercolor artists and instructors at the Honolulu Museum of Art School!
