About the Artist
Though not trained in fine arts it has always been my first love. For 15 years I was involved with Japanese swords by making the various parts of a fitted sword; menuki, tsuba, kashira, fuchi. In essence I was a jeweler. Since retiring I have been painting exclusively with watercolors. The themes have been mainly Japanese and Hawaiian. The interest in Hawai’i is because Hawai’i is my hanau one, my birth home.
