About the Artist

John Whitaker has practiced architecture in Hawaii since 1965 at firms such as Tom Wells, Wimberley & Wisenand, Hogan & Chapman, Charles Chamberland, and Vladimir Ossipoff, until opening his own architecture firm Robinson Whitaker Design with wife Joan in 1985.

John’s appreciation of Hawaiian culture and local architecture informs his own designs which have won awards from AIA and ASID.
