About the Artist
Kaneohe watercolor artist, Jenee Wonderlich, is originally from South Korea. She moved to the United States with her military husband, Dr. Steven Wonderlich, in 1980. Since that time, she has lived in Alaska, Texas, California, Georgia, Europe (Germany), Oklahoma, and now permanently here in Hawaii. In each of these locations, she was amazed at their unique natural settings, enjoyed their local art, and was inspired by visits to some of the world’s most famous art museums. Although largely self-taught, Jenee has had formal art training in colleges in Korea, Germany, and the United States, including Cameron University in Oklahoma. Jenee has worked in a variety of drawing and painting media including pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, oils, acrylics, colored pencil, pastels, and her current favorite – watercolors. Currently she favors painting Hawaiian landscapes and flora.
Jenee has been a member of numerous art groups and associations here in Hawaii including the Association of Hawaii Artists, Korean Artists Association of Hawaii, the Hawaii Watercolor Society, and the Windward Artists Guild. She has also served as president of both the Korean Artists Association of Hawaii (KAAH) and the Association of Hawaii Artists (AHA).
