About the Piece
This is a drawing of my wife’s family (Kuamoo) Heiau i North Kohala. It is older than many of the known major Heiau noted in these islands. It has many unique features. Most notably cut red cinder blocks as well as other cut and shaped basalt rocks.
About the Artist
Born in Hilo Raised in S. Kona. I am a self taught artist. My Dad use to draw. My mother used to do quilting and feather work. So, grew up in an atmosphere of creativity. I work in various mediums. Pen and ink, acrylic, colored pencils, water color. Mainly I do acrylic work. My themes are Hawaiian culturally related. Oh, and I also do photography.
