Historic Hawai‘i Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping people save historic places in Hawai‘i through advocacy efforts, assistance, and educational programs.

‘We’, ‘us’, ‘HHF’ refers to Historic Hawai‘i Foundation, the owner of the website registered in Hawai‘i whose address is 680 Iwilei Road, Suite 690, Honolulu, Hawai‘i 96817
‘You’, ‘your’ refers to the user of the website.
General Terms of using our website
- All content of the pages of our website is for general information and use only and is subject to change without notice;
- No guarantees or warranties are provided as to the accuracy or suitability of the information and materials found or offered on this website; we accept no liabilities or legal claims for any inaccuracies or errors;
- Unauthorized use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages; and
- This website may from time to time include links to other websites. These links are provided solely for the convenience of users and in no way signifies endorsement or responsibility for the content of any linked website(s);
- The use of our website is subject to the laws of Hawai‘i and the United States of America and by using and continuing to use our website you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of Hawai‘i and the United States of America for the settlement of any disputes.
Your submissions
We have an open call for works of art under the stated submission requirements. Art work may be omitted from the exhibit should they fail to be relevant to the stated theme of historic places in Hawai‘i; meet the entry deadline or instructions; or contain lewd, offensive or inappropriate references.
You retain all copyright to the images and written works submitted but agree to grant us a perpetual, royalty free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable right including a license to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, make available to the public and exercise all sub-licensable copyright and publicity rights in respect of your submission. By submitting the application, you are granting HHF permission to incorporate your art work into our media or marketing materials.
Your entry submission to HHF warrants the following:
- The submitted works of art are your own original work and you have the right to make it available to HHF for all the purposes identified above;
- That you will indemnify HHF against all legal fees/damages and all associated costs that may be incurred as a result of your breach of the warranty;
- That your submission is not defamatory and does not infringe any law; and
- That you are over the age of 18. For those 18 and younger, you submit to a parent/guardian acting on your behalf. The parent/guardian must provide a signed release statement at the time of registration.
Submission Format
Submissions can be made via the online entry form.
Each submission can be made up of images, text, and should contain a written biography, artist statement and image information such as the title, medium, technique and dimensions following the requirements of the entry form.
All submissions are to be reviewed by a panel of committee members, carefully selected by us for their comments on whether each submission should be included or not included in HHF’s art exhibit based on relevance to the theme and adherence to the entry requirements. HHF reserves the right to decline any submission.
Copyright
You retain all copyright to the images and written works submitted but agree to grant us a perpetual, royalty free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable right including a license to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, make available to the public, and exercise all sub-licensable copyright and publicity rights in respect of your submission.
Should you wish to terminate our rights over your works, you must give one month’s written notice to preservation@historichawaii.org identifying what works the license to use is withdrawn from.
